My great, great, great grandfather, Juan Vargas is said to have been pure Aztec Indian. He lived in San Antonio Texas before it was part of the Texas Republic. My great, great, great grandfather, Juan Vargas is said to have been pure Aztec Indian. He lived in San Antonio Texas before it was part of the Texas Republic. I think that is where my firm belief in God and love of bright colors comes from. My earliest memories are of drawing. I studied and worked in the graphic design field for several years. When I moved to Florida in the mid 90's I took up watercolor. It has been a rich and colorful journey so far.

The last 20 plus years have been devoted to exploring water media and its many possibilities. I’ve gone from using only transparent watercolors, to rolling on gouache, from watercolor to fluid acrylic and back to watercolor, and from hating yupo to loving it.

I believe God is my Heavenly Father and I am his child. I feel that when I am using my God given talents it draws me closer to him and I feel peace.
